DEM (10 meter) Hillshade- Hillshading is an affect produced when the gis software evaluates the aspect and slope of the terrain relative to the sun's azimuth (the sun's location on the horizon) and sun's altitude (the sun elevation above the horizon).

NOTES:
The shadowing effect of adjacent terrain is used in generating a hillshade. The shadow direction is affected by the sun's azimuth setting and shadow length is affected by the altitude component.  
(A higher sun azimuth will mean less shadows).

A DEM (Digital Elevation Model) is a 32 bit IEEE floating point value organized in a one-channel Band Interleaved by Line file (BIL) on a 7.5-minute by 7.5-minute geographic (lat/long) grid. The origin of the post is center center.
