NOTES:
The Ohana map was created
from information received from BWS which outlined areas where water
service is provided. Wastewater Management Department (now ENV) depicted
the areas where sewer service is provided and has adequate capacity to
allow additional units to be constructed. There are also areas which are
unsewered, within the BWS service area, and are within Residential (except
R 3.5), Ag 1, Ag 2, or Country zoned areas, for these areas Ohana units
can be constructed if the State Department of Health approves the septic
tank system. Those areas zoned Residential (except R 3.5), Ag 1, Ag 2, or
Country were selected from the Zoning layer of June, 1993 and were
intersected with the service area maps (described above). This resulted in
the following codes for the OHANA "item" being present in the Ohana layer: 1 BWS service area 2 BWS ineligible for Ohana, no water service 3 WWM sewered area with adequate capacity 4 WWM sewer is inadequate to support Ohana units 5 WWM unsewered area, but within water service area and appropriate zoned areas 6 OTHER ineligible areas (PDH, Cluster, Schools, Parks, Public Fac) All of these maps were drafted onto a DP Land Use map at a scale of 1 in = 1,000 ft. They were then digitized and coded. Annotation was added so that an island wide map could be plotted to indicate the location of areas eligible for Ohana units. This layer can be compared with other layers at an enlarged scale of 1"= 400'. Caution needs to be observed, if compared to other layers at an even larger scale such as 1"= 100' or 1" = 50'.
