What's New in V 2.1 (Advanced Map)
Posted: May 1, 2009
We've Added a New Button (Map Tips)

You will notice a new button at the top called "Map Tips". The functionality under this button is not new.
As you pass your cursor over the map it automatically highlights the parcel in red and displays the tmk number as well as a hyperlink
to the tmkdetails page. Use the icon to access the
hyperlink to tmkdetails page (watch video).
You can also search by address or tmk to automatically display the tmkdetails page. Though Map Tips can be usefull at times it tends to
slow down performance.
The Map Tips button/functionality is now off by default. Click the button once to turn map tips on but please wait for
the map to redraw before proceeding. This process takes anywhere from a few seconds to 30 seconds+ (depending on your pc).
When Map Tips are active you can expect slight delays as requests and responses are passed back and forth between your browser and the
server- so please be patient.
---Other changes---
- Map Tips off by default
- Imagery on by default
- New button style (Image Map, Imagery, Map Tips)
A Look at What's Coming (subject to change)
In an effort to simplify the interface, you will see a scaled down version of the current map to support parcel and zoning information only.
It will become the 'Parcel/Zoning Map Viewer' and include only those layers that are needed to reference parcel/zoning information. Base
layers (imagery, topography, streets) will be provided in a high performance cache. We will also move the 2 most commonly used menu options
(currently buried 3 deep under the pulldown menu) to a more 'user-friendly' location directly on the interface.
Other streamlined map services will follow including Utilities, Parks, etc
The current map, with it's 70+ layers will remain as the Advanced Query Map.
Map Tips has been further enhanced in 9.3.1.
A better metadata service is also planned.
----Other improvements ----
- more streamlined services
- 3d functionality
- better printing
- more imagery
- tmkdetails without map
- My Places
